The project was created in 1997, in collaboration with Centro Nazionale di Studi Leopardiani in Recanati, to celebrate the second centenary of the birth of Giacomo Leopardi.
The overall plan develops an ideal connection between maximum poet’s verses and works of Walter Valentini, who accompanies the “CANTI” and the “FRAMMENTI” of Giacomo Leopardi with 29 original etchings, numbered and signed by himself. Two editions with different format for 7+3 copies introduced by Mario Luzi and presented by Franco Foschi.
This edition of “Canti” and “Frammenti” is composed by 7 copies, it is conserved in a Plexiglas box. On the cover and inside the volume there are two etchings by Walter Valentini .
The following titles mark 4 copies in 175 examples exclusively achieved for the Chamber of Deputies: Bello il tuo manto o divo cielo, E che pensieri immensi, Viene il vento recando il suon dell’ora, Ecco il sol che ritorna.
