San Francesco – I fioretti

The edition is based on the version of father Giacinto Pagnani, introduced by Armando Torno and illustrated by Fabio Sironi with original drawings, 11 of which printed in etching by Giancarlo Sardella.

The work “I Fioretti di San Francesco” is a florilegium about the life of the Saint and his disciples. The book reconstructs the world of Franciscan preaching with fairytale and seraphic expressions. The heart of the tale is the fraternity with humans, animals and elements of creation.

The first printing of Fioretti dated back to 1476 in Vicenza “per Lunardo Longo rector de la giesia de sancto Paulo de Vicenza”.
